Why not buy the spiral expansion pack for much less $$$?
I'm not sure why someone wouldn't buy the Spiral Expansion Pack (Same spiral thomas track minus the extra track pieces) and save quite a bit of money, chances are your child already has extra track and you could build this for much less! Just saying : ) We love thomas!

Another fabulous thomas set!
We own maybe a dozen sets and maybe 50 trains in the wooden thomas line. This is another great set. It doesn't seem wobbly, poorly made, or hard to put together. In fact, I taught my 4yr old how to look at the bottom of the pieces and find the letters a-f and line them up and put it together that way. It maybe took him 10 min to understand how to assemble it by himself. I've been wanting a downhill sloping set like this one for a couple years and waited until they came out with this one. I'm glad I did! The joining pieces connect with the track so that the track will not fall off. (Similar to the way the red stacking riser pieces work.)And the price I paid for it was unbeatable!
