Tired of paying for Department Store Cosmetics? Me too!
I normally use Laura Mercier. I am completely satisfied with the purchases of Almay Smart Shade and have been recommending it to everyone.. including my 19 yr old niece and 50 yr old sister in law. I also review high end cosmetics on Makeupalley..(for over 8 years now) I can honestly say on a budget or not, Almay Smart Shade Concealer and Foundation Rocks! Stunned by the quality at this price !!!
I was referred to this brand from the "About" website that offers reviews of just about everything. I went to Kmart and bought the Light shade because I have very fair skin. This Almay Smart Shade Anti-Aging Makeup is very inexpensive in comparison to other foundations.Got home and tried it on over a primer. First I was surprised at the white coloring but, using my foundation brush, it smoothed out very quickly and"became" my second skin (only lovelier). I'm 72 and have been looking for a long time for a foundation suitable for mature skin. Requirements were that it (1) not be cakey, (2) not accentuate wrinkles, (3) evened out skin tone so that there were no red or ruddy areas, (4) had a slight "glow" to it without being greasy or shiny, and (5) allowed blush and contour powder to go on easily.This makeup is just fantastic. I'm unloading all my tinted moisturizers, baked foundations, liquid foundations, and powders -- and tidying up my vanity table...

Wow!
I didn't believe this foundation would make a difference in the texture and color of my skin. I'm in my late 40's, pale skin with slight rosacea. This is the perfect foundation for me - the skin tone is exactly what I'm looking for - coverage and "no makeup" look. I like this
I started using this a couple of years ago and really like it. I have a mild rosey cheeks and nose and have never liked using foundations. This moisturizer was a wonderful find, it simply evens out the tone of my skin without that caked on appearance. I prefer to use the regenerist serium (face and eye) just after showering, then I put on Purpose moisturizer with UV protection. I usually put my make up on last (after hair drying and brushingteeth), so just before putting on makeup I use the total effects with touch of foundation moisturizer. Yes, I'm using two moisturizers but I have always used Purpose with UV so I simply added Olay Total Effects with a touch of foundation and love the evening out of my skin tone. A very light powder put on with a brush(not a pad) is all you need to knock down any shiny appearance. Do not confuse Touch of Foundation with Touch of Sun. Touch of Sun is like a self tanner which may work fine(not my cup of tea), but the two are completely...

This is the only foundation I use now
I love this moisturizer. It's hard to match my coloring and harder still for me to apply foundation with patience, so I tend to stay away from heavy foundations. But this is fairly light, and still provides the appearance of more even, brighter, tighter skin. I can layer it easily as well depending on the coverage I am looking for. I also notice the fine lines around my eyes less, and this produict feels amazing once it's on. The only drawback is that you may need additional products for when you just want hydration and not foundation (like nighttime). And this probably goies without saying, but you will want to wash your face to avoid small pimples.

Oil of Olay does not disappoint!
I love all their products, and have been a loyal user since I was 18. I wanted something that would moisturize and give me color, when I didn't want to wear makeup. it works perfectly. May not be everyday use for me, but something I don't feel is cakey or heavy on my skin.

Your skin will look gorgeous -- just wait 15 minutes . . .
I want to preface this review by saying that I have never liked liquid foundation . . . until now. I used Bare Escentuals for many years, then recently I switched to Smashbox's Halo for its hydrating effects. I am 41 now, and although my skin looks pretty good, I do have these tiny, fine lines near my eyes that I wanted to address. The problem with powders is that they tend to settle into those little lines and accentuate them. Halo was a big improvement, but then I read about Recreate and I had to give it a shot.It has only been one week, but I am already hooked! This stuff is fantastic. For a very reasonable price you get quite a lot of product, and since you only need to use a little at a time, it should last a while. It delivers moderate coverage and seems like a pretty average foundation when you first put it on. But after 15 minutes -- wow! It does an amazing job hydrating your face, making it feel soft & smooth, and totally plumping up those fine lines. I love that...

Only a clock can rewind!
I like the coverage provided by this product, but it can leave a somewhat dry look to the skin. I switched from powders because I felt they aged my face and this does have a similar look when on.It disguised my spottiness, but I would have liked it to be a tad more dewey. That said, I have tried foundations that leave me looking greasy and this definitely lives a matte finish. Guess I want something in between.Did it seem to do anything for wrinkles? Not that I noticed. It's nice that it has a sunscreen, but other than that I'm not sure that it "did" anything for my skin. It's also great that it's made from natural ingredients, it just did not feel as natural-looking in the mirror.If you are looking for rather strong, powderlike coverage, you will love this. If you only need light coverage or want something creamy, this might not be for you.

Great color but too powdery.
I love liquid foundations and Tarte has the best color for my skintone (light with yellow undertones-Warm Bisque). I just wish that the foundation could be more dewy instead of powdery, because from close I can see powder in my pores and lines. But from the distance (when I look in the mirror) skin looks great, flawless. This make up has a great coverage and a little goes long way.Everybody says it's natural, which is not true (ingredients list), but I hope it won't break me out.

Very smooth and moisturizing!
I've been using Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion along with Moisture On-Call for years. This winter has been especially brisk, so my skin was still dry no matter how much product I put on.This weekend, I saw the Olay at my local warehouse store (3.4fl oz/100ml size) and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the results! My skin now feels soft and moisturized. I will continue using this product because it is fragrance free (so is Clinique), but in additon: oil-free and has SPF-15.

Satisfaction beyond expectation
I used this morning cream along with their night cream.problem:I'm a 65 yo male that has always had a ruddy complexion. I wore a cervical neck collar for about 6 years, plus losing about 100 pounds about 2 years ago. My neck was an over abundance of loose saggy skin.I used both the day and night creams. I just wiped it on w/o paying much attention to how I did it.RESULT after 1 month:Nearly all that saggy neck skin tightened. It unbelievable.plus-I've received comments from three different people who commented, "you look great - what have you done to your face and neck!" THAT SAYS IT ALL>I'll definitely reorder these two products.

Very smooth
I had severe acne as a teenager and now that I'm in my 30's I have an occasional breakout. I would always read in the beauty magazines that you should apply a moisturizer on your face but I was reluctant because of my acne-prone skin. I'm not sure why I decided to give Olay Total Effects a try but I am so glad I did. I have been using it every day for over a year now. It does not make my skin breakout at all (a big plus in my book). It makes my skin very smooth and gives me that "dewy" look. It also helps my foundation look more natural looking because the moisturizer is so hydrating. I also like the fact that it protects my skin from the sun.I would definately recommend this product to anyone looking for a moisturizer. Despite it's high price (compared to other brands) it's definately worth it.

This is the 2nd time I have purchased this make-up. I am over 60 years of age, and I do notice quite a difference in the look of my face. I love this foundation.
I love this foundation. It has fantastic coverage and is long-lasting. I gave it only 3 Stars because of this particular Seller. If the other reviewer had odor issues, it was probably an outdated product. I usually buy it through Sephora, but thought I'd try and get a "deal" online. Amazon is fantastic, but this particular seller (B&B LLC) sent me what appeared to be an expired product. I immediately returned it and Amazon, as usual, was wonderful in handling a return.Don't throw Tarte under the bus just from one person's problem with an "odor". Chances are, it was simply that particular bottle that was defective.
